Board of Directors

The Partners for Adoption Board of Directors is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the agency. The Board members come from a variety of backgrounds including sales, marketing, finance and advertising. Some of our board members are proud adoptive parents, and all of our board members have a passion for the welfare of children and the mission of Partners for Adoption.


Susanne Ross Revutsky, President
Susanne has over 15 years experience working in philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. She was Principal of Butterfly Careers, a consulting practice that helps individuals find work in the nonprofit sector. Her prior work experience includes being Senior Consultant at Harder+Company Community Research conducting program evaluations of foundations. She also was a Program Officer at Northern California Grantmakers, managing funding collaborative. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Claremont McKenna College and a Master of Arts in Public Policy Studies with an emphasis on Nonprofit Management from John Hopkins University. She is also mom to her daughter, Lucy.

Mara Okita, Treasurer
Mara has over 17 years of accounting and financial management experience at a variety of services companies. She also has substantial experience in operations management, human resources management and marketing and public relations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is currently pursuing her MBA with an emphasis on CPA preparation from Keller University. She is also a certified King-Fu instructor.

Sara Levy, Secretary
Sarah Levy started working with parents and children over 15 years ago by leading an afternoon Pre-Kindergarten at her synagogue in Phoenix. Sara is committed to supporting families through work with children, whether volunteering as a cabin counselor with Camp Del Corazon, a camp for children with congenital heart disease; being a Big Sister to a 13 year old through Big Brothers, Big Sisters when living in Charleston, SC; or volunteering in San Francisco with City of Dreams, a group mentorship program for underserved and at-risk youth. When Sara’s not volunteering, she’s an Associate Marketing Manager with iRhythm Technologies, an ambulatory monitoring company in San Francisco. She holds an undergraduate degree from Tulane.

Eva Jo Meyers, Board Member
Eva most recently was a District Coordinator for the San Francisco Unified School District’s ExCEL After School Programs before taking maternity leave. Prior to joining SFUSD she held positions as a Media Program Manager for the San Francisco Conservation Corps, as an Education Director with the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and as a bilingual classroom teacher in New York City through Teach for America. She is a former Fulbright Scholar and holds a California Teaching Credential in Art, a Masters of Arts degree in Humanities and Leadership from the New College of California, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Visual Arts from Oberlin College. Eva fronts the all-female band, Making Dinner, and has released three albums on her label postmodrecords. She gave birth to her first child in April 2010.

Joanie Smith, Board Member
Joanie is an adoptive parent who worked closely with Partners for Adoption in the adoption of her daughter from Georgia. She owns East Bay Nature Company, a retail store that specializes in everything for bird feeding and bird watching.

Polina Steier, Board Member
Polina is Editor-in-Chief of Caviar Affair Magazine. She is an entrepreneur involved in many different enterprises. Polina has extensive experience in Marketing and Communications.
