Partners for Adoption Domestic Adoption Services
Partners for Adoption is licensed to work with California adoptive parents who wish to adopt domestically. Our agency works in partnership with lawyers and other adoption professionals throughout California to provide families with the best services possible. Our partners have many years of experience screening birth mothers and matching them with prospective families, as well as providing necessary legal help and advice throughout the process.
Services We Provide:
Partners for Adoption can provide the following services for your domestic adoption:
- A domestic homestudy that can be used for either an independent or agency adoption. All of our homestudies meet California adoption standards and can be used for out-of-state adoptions as well.
- Conversion of a completed international homestudy into a domestic homestudy. We can also work with families who would like to complete both an international and domestic homestudy simultaneously.
- Education and counseling on the domestic adoption process by our experienced clinical social workers
- For out-of-state adoptions, work with the sending state’s Interstate Compact office to approve the placement
- Post-placement supervision after the placement of your child
- Assistance with the finalization of your adoption in California, including providing and filing a final court report and required documents
The attorneys and adoption professionals we collaborate with can:
- Help you to complete your “Dear Birthmother Letter” and assist you with outreach efforts
- Screen potential birth mothers throughout the state and country
- Use their networks to help facilitate a match with a birth mother that fits your criteria
- Create and manage an adoption budget for the birth mother
- Provide guidance, support and education to both you and the birth mother throughout the adoption process
- Handle the legal process of terminating the birth parents’ rights
- Help with the finalization of the adoption, including preparation of final papers and coordination with out-of-state agency
